Sole of Discretion was created in answer to a problem: as conscientious shoppers, how can we continue to eat fish without the nagging concern that our choices are leading to the depletion of our oceans and the destruction of precious and vulnerable ecosystems?
By sourcing fish exclusively from small-scale boats using low-impact fishing methods, and ensuring that every fish is traceable back to the boat, we do the hard work of finding fish that is caught in sustainable quantities and in a way that limits damage to the marine environment.
The fish you can enjoy from Sole of Discretion is seasonally caught, blast frozen to ensure freshness to shelf and continued availability no matter the weather, and every catch receives a fair price. This means that our fishers can catch an array of species, taking the pressure of the ‘favourite five’, and giving shoppers the chance to try everything that the UK seas have to offer.
Please note that we cannot at present deliver to the Scottish Highlands and Islands.
Delivery Terms & Conditions
All delivery prices advised are to UK mainland excluding Northern Ireland, Highlands and Islands where we require you to contact us before ordering, due to deliveries taking longer in transit. If the goods are damaged upon delivery please contact us within 24 hours of receiving the goods so we can deal with the matter as soon as possible in accordance with your legal rights.
We send our orders on a next day delivery option using the couriers DPD or DHL, but there is no guaranteed time slot for delivery and some deliveries can be delivered up until 8pm.
In some rare cases delivery can take 2 days to arrive to you, we will ensure that there are enough frozen ice packs in every box to keep everything chilled for up to 48 hours just in case of a delay but we cannot be held responsible for any frozen items that may have started to defrost.
When you place your order you will be asked where you would like your order to be left if you are out. If we or our courier have left the items in your chosen safe place and they go missing or are tampered with we hold no responsibility for this.
Customer Responsibility
Please be aware that the delivery couriers we use will only deliver to your door and it is the customer’s responsibility to take the goods inside. On delivery of the goods please inspect for any damage. If the goods or any contents are missing, lost or damaged in transit please contact us within 24 hours by email Us@Soleofdiscretion.co.uk or by telephone 01752 657528.
